Four Triangle club teams to participate in Super Y-League North American Finals
November is the time of year when over 120 USL teams converge on Tampa Florida for League meetings and to start working on the 2009 season. The USL AGM begins Thursday and will go on until Sunday morning with executives and staff from all USL-1, USL-2, PDL, W-League and Super Y teams meeting, getting to know each other and sharing USL experiences.
At the same time the Super Y-League North American Finals take place not too far from the convention, at the Ed Radice Soccer Complex, and three CASL teams as well as one Triangle Futbol Club team will be participating in the tournament that showcases the best of the best youth soccer has to offer.
UNC’s Averbuch, Rodenbough and Eveland as well as Duke’s Bienenfeld named to ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America First and Second Teams
The College of Sports Information Directors of America announced the ESPN The Magazine All-America Teams this week and four triangle college players have earned First or Second Team honors. UNC Women’s Yael Averbuch, Kristi Eveland and Anna Rodenbough as well as Duke Men’s Josh Bienenfeld were all honored for their exceptional work on the field and in the classroom. In addition senior midfielder Yael Averbuch was also named as the winner of the Academic All-America of the Year award in the University Division.
