Yuba City Centennial Closing Ceremonies
Make sure your plans include a stop on Plumas Street Friday as Yuba City pulls out all the stops
for the closing ceremonies of the Yuba City Centennial Celebration that promises to be “the biggest
and best celebration Yuba City has ever experienced.”
Committee co-chairs Carol Ramirez and Jackie Sillman have said this will be an evening that’s a
mix Rio’s “Carnival,” with New Orleans’ “Mardi Gras and the “Disney Main Street Parade.”
The Celebration runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, October 10, and includes six stages, multi-cultural performances,
jazz and rock music, jugglers, clowns, stilt walkers, fire eaters, an Ice Cream Social, a ribbon
cutting for the newly opened Plumas Street and so much more.
At 7:30 p.m., Yuba City Mayor Rory Ramirez and the City Council members will toast the end of
the first 100 years of the city’s incorporation while celebrating the beginning of the next 100 years.
