 11/24 - Thanks for Caring - On behalf of the School Board and staff, I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving always reinforces the gratitude I feel at being able to serve with so many caring and unselfish individuals. Last week at a meeting of my Student Advisory Council, a student at St. Johns Technical High School gave a testimony that demonstrated this level of caring and compassion. This young lady, now a student leader at SJTHS, shared her experience growing up in Brooklyn and how a negative school situation allowed her to drift in the wrong direction. She credits caring teachers in St. Johns County with her turnaround! Not a day goes by that I don't hear of some kindness by a teacher, bus driver, cafeteria worker, secretary, paraprofessional, administrator or other district level employee. The love for people, especially children, in this district is incredible!
