Flies in Fun for Disabled Children

Blaine Grinalds, one of the few teen campers at Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children, checks out the cockpit of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter with the help of Spc. Leroy Miller, a Black Hawk crew chief for Co.B, 3-227th Avn. Regt., 1st ACB, 1CD. Miller, along with pilots Chief Warrant Officers Shai Bardfield and Frank Aguilar, helped put on a static display for the campers at PKRC Nov. 8 to give them an up-close look at an Army helicopter.

Son Shares Father’s Values

Cpl. Jason Young is re-enlisted by his commander, Capt. Phillip Cain, Nov. 14, during a ceremony at Camp Taji north of Baghdad. Young, an AH-64 attack helicopter repairer, who calls Temple, Texas, his home, is assigned to Co. B, 1st Bn, 4th Avn Regt. Young’s father, Staff Sgt. Jason Young, a wheeled-vehicle mechanic from Plymouth, Ind., is assigned to Co. B, 4th Spt Bn, 1st BCT, 4ID, MND-B, visited his son at Camp Taji for the re-enlistment.

Raising his arm to signal the fighter’s victory, UFC referee “Big John” McCarthy indicates Pfc. Christian Santos, 48th Chem. Bde., 20th SUPTCOM, has won his light-heavyweight fight against Spc. Quinshaun Hawkins, 232nd Med. Bn., Ft. Sam Houston, during the Fort Hood Army Combatives Invitational Tournament held Monday night at Abrams Physical Fitness Center. About 3,000 fans witnessed 14 fighters compete in seven weight divisions.
