Killeen to break ground on Fire Station 1
The city of Killeen and Killeen Fire Department will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station #1 tomorrow at 11 a.m. at 3800 Westcliff Road. The public is invited to attend.
Killeen Receives Historic Preservation Grant
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has awarded a $3,000 grant to the city of Killeen for a historic landscape master plan that will provide recommendations to improve historic structures and architectural renderings of rehabilitated buildings.
Smoke testing on Fort Hood may affect Killeen residents
The Directorate of Public Works for Fort Hood will be performing tests of the sewer system December 3-5. Residents may notice smoke involved in the testing.
Burn Ban in effect through most of December
The Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas has ordered that all outdoor burning ban will remain in effect in Bell County until December 22, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., unless the Commissioners Court determines that the circumstances creating a public safety hazard no longer exist.
